Overview
This policy explains what information TWMTW (“Those Who Make Things Work”, “we”, “us”) collects through TWMTW.org, why we collect it and how we look after it. We collect as little as possible and we never sell personal information.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you use our Contact or Get Involved forms, we receive your name, email address, your message and, on the Get Involved form, how you would like to help. If you email, call or message us on WhatsApp, we receive the details you choose to share.
Technical information. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical details such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. We also use your IP address briefly to stop automated spam being sent through our forms.
Usage information. Only if you agree, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (see below).
How we use information
We use your information to reply to your message, to explore collaborations you propose, to keep the website secure and, where you have agreed, to understand how the site is used so we can improve it. When you send a form, we also email you a short confirmation that we received it.
Analytics and cookies
TWMTW.org does not use advertising cookies. If you click “Accept” on our cookie notice, we load Google Analytics, which sets cookies to count visits and measure how pages are used. IP addresses are anonymised. If you click “Decline”, Google Analytics is not loaded. We remember your choice in your browser’s local storage.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent personal information. We only share it with service providers that help us run the site: our web and email hosting provider, Google (for analytics, only if you agree) and WhatsApp (only if you choose to contact us there, under WhatsApp’s own privacy policy). We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep messages for as long as needed to respond and follow up, and for no longer than 24 months unless we are working together. Spam-protection records are deleted automatically within a day.
Your choices
You can ask us at any time what information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. You can also withdraw your consent to analytics at any time.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update it on this page and change the date at the top.
